Jorge Mori (São Paulo, SP, 1932 - idem, 2018)

Jorge Mori was a painter, draftsman, and printmaker. He began his painting studies with Yoshya Takaoka in 1944. His first solo exhibition took place in 1947, at the age of 14. He was a member of the Guanabara Group between 1950 and 1952. In 1952, he traveled to Paris to study painting, mosaic, and fresco techniques. Although he initially attended French academies, he dedicated himself to his studies, copying classical works at the Louvre Museum to learn the techniques of great masters such as Botticelli, Fra Angelico, and Paolo Uccello, among others. In 1960, he returned to France to research the use of the classical glacis technique.
